DIY All Purpose Cleaner\\\\\\\\\
Today I wanted to share my personal favorite all natural DIY cleaner that I use allllll over my house! It is so easy to make, and chances are you already have everything you need to make it!
When my daughter was born, I became really conscious of the presence of harsh chemicals in my home. I haven’t been able to completely convert to an all natural cleaning regimen (I still love my store bought glass cleaner!) but I did want to make the products I would be using on a daily basis chemical free and homemade!
The first step I took was to get these beautiful glass spray bottles that are great especially if you are using essential oils. I got one for my kitchen and one for each of my bathrooms for convenience. The oils will eat through plastic bottles, so beware! I wanted to invest in these glass ones because I knew I would be using them every day, for years to come! I also used a paint pen to label them!
The next thing I did was get this really inexpensive set of essential oils on amazon, with lots of varieties so I could play around with different blends! Most people will tell you that you need the highest quality $20 a vial essential oils to reap all of the benefits... but I’m here to tell you that it’s not necessary for most things. I use essential oils mostly for aroma therapy- cleaning, diffusing and room spray so I don’t really need the cream of the crop. I just want it to smell pretty! If you are going to be using oils directly on the skin, then I would recommend a higher quality oil. But for this project, these were just fine!
I played around with different blends, some had way too much vinegar, some were way too diluted and almost all didn’t have nearly enough essential oil to mask the yucky vinegar smell.
Finally I came up with the perfect blend! nough vinegar for some serious cleaning power, but not enough to knock you out. Lots of essential oils so my kitchen and bathrooms would smell amazing after I cleaned them. I hope you love it too!
- 1 Cup Warm Water
- 1/2 Cup Vinegar
- 30 Drops Essential oils
