2016, Looking Back and Moving Forward
Another year over, and another on the way! When I look back at the past year, I think of highlights both incredibly happy and challenging. I think for many of us, this year was one of personal growth and development. As for me and my little family, we had lots of ups and downs.
David got a killer job which has been a huge blessing and a place for him to learn and grow. He also has flourished in his true passion of working as a DJ, lighting director, and stage manager for a premier wedding band in LA- he continues to blow me away with his hard work and dedication daily.
As for me, I got a job... and then was laid off! I had a great time, learned some new things, and feel truly blessed for the experience. This year I also found out that we have a baby on the way one week before losing my job! ...I guess you can say the Lord has a new job for me now ;) Ironically, through all of the financial ups and downs, this is the year David and I truly have learned how to save and maximize our income!
Another highlight for us was heading to Hawaii for my sisters wedding. We had a blast and are so happy for the newlyweds! One of the best parts of the trip was when I got to tell David that he is now a daddy. It is a trip I will never forget.
Lots of things have changed in this little space of mine as well. I've learned new crafts, and have truly started to find myself as a creator, small business owner, and as a person. I participated in my first craft show, developed new products, and fulfilled a number of custom orders. I want to take a moment to thank anyone reading this for your support and interest in my simple little life.
For me, last year was about growth and experience. I can't wait to grow and learn some more this next year! So lets all start this new year with intention and purpose... I just know it's gonna be a dang good one.
